An Academic Partnership Built for Universities.

Team8 People's University Academic Program helps universities develop career-ready graduates by building the critical interpersonal skills today's employers are actively seeking.

Build the Critical Interpersonal Skills Employers Want

According to the NACE 2025 Job Outlook Survey, employers are looking for graduates who can: solve problems effectively, communicate strongly, work well in teams, demonstrate initiative and adaptability, lead and think critically.

The Team8 People Academic Program is purpose-built to develop exactly those skills.

What's Included in the Academic Partnership Program?

DISC Profile for Each Student

Each student completes their own DISC Profile – Team8 DISC for business and general studies courses, Sports ManagerDISC for sport management and sport science, CoachDISC for coaching education programs, or TeacherDISC for education and initial teacher education. Each student receives a personalized 40-page report exploring their behavioral style, communication preferences, and approach to people and tasks.

Online learning dashboard

An easy-to-use online resource where faculty and students access class-relevant videos, complete reflection exercises, and download materials to reinforce learning. Dashboards are topic-specific and can be integrated into your university LMS software.

200+ page learning guide

Access to a 200+ page Student Learning Guide, a combination of theory, application, valuable exercises, and projects. Use in class work or build into assignments to dive deeper into DISC theory and apply it to team, leadership, or communication.

Guest lecture (optional)

A live virtual session delivered by an expert Team8 People DISC consultant, exploring how DISC is used in leadership, career development, and high-performing teams. Tailored to the class subject area with real-world examples students can apply immediately.

How DISC Benefits Students

DISC Profiling is more than just a self-assessment. It is a powerful tool for building the core skills students need for success in their studies and future careers. By helping students understand their unique behavioral style, why they do what they do, and how they interact with others, DISC fosters meaningful personal and professional development.

Self-awareness

Students gain insights into their preferred behaviors, providing an understanding of their strengths, motivators, and areas for growth.

Behavioral adaptability

DISC focuses on behavior, not personality. Students use their self-awareness to identify the style of others and how they might need to adapt.

Communication skills

Students learn how to adapt their communication style to be more effective across different people and situations, achieving greater outcomes and building stronger relationships.

Teamwork and Collaboration

With a deeper understanding of behavioral dynamics, students learn how to contribute meaningfully to group work, manage peer relationships, and navigate challenges.

Employment skills

Understanding their DISC Profile helps students identify and articulate their unique strengths and working style in resumes, cover letters, and job interviews.

Leadership capability

Whether students lead formally or informally, DISC gives them the awareness and adaptability to positively influence others.

Career readiness

By aligning with what employers want – communication, teamwork, and adaptability – DISC prepares students for success in the workplace from day one.

Conflict resolution

DISC equips students with strategies to recognize and manage conflict constructively, improving their emotional intelligence and confidence.
