University Academic Program
Team8 People's University Academic Program helps universities develop career-ready graduates by building the critical interpersonal skills today's employers are actively seeking.
Build the Critical Interpersonal Skills Employers Want
According to the NACE 2025 Job Outlook Survey, employers are looking for graduates who can: solve problems effectively, communicate strongly, work well in teams, demonstrate initiative and adaptability, lead and think critically.
The Team8 People Academic Program is purpose-built to develop exactly those skills.
What's Included in the Academic Partnership Program?

How DISC Benefits Students
DISC Profiling is more than just a self-assessment. It is a powerful tool for building the core skills students need for success in their studies and future careers. By helping students understand their unique behavioral style, why they do what they do, and how they interact with others, DISC fosters meaningful personal and professional development.
Self-awareness
Students gain insights into their preferred behaviors, providing an understanding of their strengths, motivators, and areas for growth.
Behavioral adaptability
DISC focuses on behavior, not personality. Students use their self-awareness to identify the style of others and how they might need to adapt.
Communication skills
Students learn how to adapt their communication style to be more effective across different people and situations, achieving greater outcomes and building stronger relationships.
Teamwork and Collaboration
With a deeper understanding of behavioral dynamics, students learn how to contribute meaningfully to group work, manage peer relationships, and navigate challenges.
Employment skills
Understanding their DISC Profile helps students identify and articulate their unique strengths and working style in resumes, cover letters, and job interviews.
Leadership capability
Whether students lead formally or informally, DISC gives them the awareness and adaptability to positively influence others.
Career readiness
By aligning with what employers want – communication, teamwork, and adaptability – DISC prepares students for success in the workplace from day one.
Conflict resolution
DISC equips students with strategies to recognize and manage conflict constructively, improving their emotional intelligence and confidence.

Quick FAQs
Do I need to be DISC accredited to deliver this in my course?
No – the academic program is designed so faculty can integrate it without prior DISC accreditation as the materials, learning guide, and Team8 People support fill the gap. That said, many of our academic partners go on to complete DISC Accreditation so they can deliver the work with deeper fluency. Talk to us during your discovery call.
Which DISC Profile should I use in my course?
It depends on your students and the course – Team8 DISC for business, leadership, and general studies; Sports ManagerDISC for sport management and sport science; CoachDISC for coaching education; TeacherDISC for initial teacher education. We work through the right profile with you during scoping.
Can the program run across multiple courses or whole programs?
Yes – many of our academic partners use Team8 People DISC across multiple courses inside a program – for example, an introductory course, a leadership course, and a capstone – so students build deeper fluency as they progress.
How does the Academic Program differ from purchasing individual DISC Profiles?
The Academic Program is purpose-built for the classroom, providing economical per-student pricing, the 200+ page Learning Guide, the online learning dashboard, syllabus review, full faculty support, and the option of a guest lecture.
Buying individual DISC Profiles gives you the assessment but none of the teaching support that makes integration successful.
Can the DISC Profiles be offered through the University Bookstore?
Yes – we regularly work with university bookstores and will determine the best options when we meet to discuss and learn more about your program on your discovery call.
