A TEAM8 PEOPLE TOOL

The DISC Card Game

A tactile facilitation tool for introducing or applying DISC.
Engaging, accessible, and effective across workshops, team building, classroom learning, and everything in between.

The DISC Card Game offers facilitators, coaches, teachers, consultants, and program leads a hands-on way to introduce DISC language, explore behavioral preferences, and spark meaningful conversations. The tactile format engages participants and provides a low-barrier entry point to DISC language before, alongside, or in place of full profile deployment.

What is the DISC Card Game?

What is it?

The DISC Card Game is a set of physical cards designed to make DISC principles tangible. Each card represents a behavioral trait, communication preference, or situational tendency drawn from the four DISC styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientious.

How is it Used?

Use in structured games and activities to help participants explore their own behavioral preferences, understand others’ preferences, and build shared language around DISC. The game can be used before, alongside, or instead of using the full DISC Profiles with a group.

Evolution of the DISC Card Game

The game is designed to work across every context Team8 People serves. Originally created for youth sport teams, the applied activities are now used across all levels of sport, corporate cohorts, school classrooms, tactical academies, and community-facing engagement work.

Use as an entry point in client workshops before deploying full DISC Profiles. Sparks initial engagement and gives participants concrete language before they see their own report.

Use in team-building sessions, kickoff workshops, and cohort development programs. Accessible enough that facilitators without deep DISC expertise can lead effective sessions.

Introduce DISC language in classroom or team settings — with students, coach cohorts, or teaching staff. The tactile format engages learners who don’t respond as well to reading-based content.

Team-building activity for athlete groups, junior sport programs, or coaching staff sessions. Originally designed with youth teams in mind.

Pre-deployment engagement tool for units, recruit cohorts, and academy classrooms — where formal off-site training time is limited but shared behavioral language matters.

Use DISC Card Game in a Workshop kickoff (5-15 minutes)

Short activity to introduce DISC language at the start of a longer workshop or program. Warms participants up and gives them shared vocabulary before deeper content.

Use the DISC Card Game in a Team-building session (30-60 minutes)

Structured activity for intact teams to explore their combined behavioral shape. Surfaces friction points and complementary strengths through play rather than analysis.

Use the DISC Card Game in a Classroom introduction

For teachers or coach educators introducing DISC to older students or cohorts. Especially valuable in sport education, teacher training, and leadership programs.

Youth team engagement

Originally designed for youth teams — the tactile format is more engaging for younger athletes than profile-and-debrief approaches.

Post-profile debrief tool

Reinforce and deepen DISC learning after individual profile completion. Bridges from personal insight to group-level application.

Community engagement and de-escalation training

Used in tactical contexts as an accessible way to introduce behavioral awareness for personnel who interact with the public regularly.
